Minutes of Meeting 24 July 2007

The meeting was called to order by President Marlene Griggs at 10:00 A.M. with thank you to Lori Lehman, Luncheon Chairman, for a very nice June Luncheon.

Four guests were introduced: Bobbi Allen, Judy Horn, Sandy Mitchell and Branden Strausbaugh.

The door prize was won by Trudy Rogers—
packaged food and laundry supplies.

The June minutes were approved with the addition of the name of Sandy Mitchell as the guest present.

A thank you card from Dorothy Broadhurst acknowledging her Honorary Membership into the club was read.

Show and Tell was presented by Jeannie Jesse—exchange gifts from the Luncheon.

Librarian Marion Stacey discussed the method by which the club books can be checked out and their return in 30 days with the opportunity for renewal for an additional 30 days. Loss of any book must be replaced or cost paid for by the borrower. Library time is during the break and is within the club meeting room.

Project Chairman Michelle Barnhart has scheduled wallpapering, shelves, etc. for the club’s on-going library project.

The 2008 Show Chairman Gloria Osborn reported that the contracts have not been sent. 17 August 207 is the next Show Committee meeting.

State Day plans are being made with a possible 27 September 2008 date. A meeting at the home of Lori Lehman is scheduled for 23 August 2007. It is noted that the club is not the sponsor of State Day.

Buff Greaney (membership) requested any changes be made to the present membership list circulated among the members. Joann Moore asked that a small booklet form be considered. An update to the small loose-leaf notebook previously issued to the membership was also discussed. Both items were tabled for further consideration.

Buff read a request from Lorraine Vaught for MAL membership as she is moving to Arizona. Motion by Jeannie Jesse to accept her MAL status, seconded by Gloria Osborn, was passed by the membership.

Lorraine has been a member for many years and contributed to the club in a number of positions and chairmanships.

Trudy Rogers, Newsletter Chairman, will E-mail the Newsletter together with the Minutes and mail them to those with no E-mail listing.

A Board Meeting was held on 19 July 2007 at the home of Marlene Griggs at which time the Proposed Budget for 2007/2008 was compiled. Lori Lehman presented the Budget to the membership and with some discussion but no changes, Buff Greaney made a motion to accept the Budget as presented, seconded by Jeannie Jesse and the motion passed.

Voula Klados, a member of the club for many years, passed away on 27 June 2007. She was remembered by Lori Lehman who also attended her church burial services on 3 July 2007.

The raffle was won by Karen Richter-Rusin. A chess table with chess pieces and two chairs.
