The meeting was called to order by President Marlene Griggs at 10:00 A.M. There were two guests—Bobbi Allen, for the second time, and Terin Smith of Santa Barbara, CA. The door prize was won by Frank Zunino—a very realistic half fresh salmon and lemon slices on a wooden cutting board. Show and Tell brought a fascinating array of primarily 1/144th scale minis by Israela Manson (one of her favorite scales), Buff Greaney (at one time a club project) and Claire McConnell. The July minutes were approved as written. The issue of updating the loose-leaf membership notebook was brought up for consideration. After some discussion, Jeannie made the motion to update the records, Ann seconded it and the motion was accepted. Provide Gloria with the necessary information if your record needs any changes/additions. 2008 Show—Contracts have been sent and some sales tables have been filled. The cost for a club member table is $100.00. Marlene is collecting items for the Kids’ Shopping Table. She requested good items—none broken. A 1-hour project for the kids is planned for Saturday and Sunday. State Day—next meeting 20 September at Lori’s. In support of NAME’S Buy a Brick Program (see Miniature Gazette, May/June 2007 issue), a motion to purchase a brick for $135.00, recognizing our club, was made by Leslie, seconded by Marion and carried. Buff proposed that the club purchase a second brick in like amount “in honor of the Charter Members of San Diego miniature Crafters, C-011, 1972.” Jackie seconded the motion and it was accepted by the membership. The club has received two Certificates from NAME—a 35-year Anniversary Certificate and a Blue Ribbon Club Certificate. Blue Ribbon Club pins were provided for each member. The project for the day—wallpapering the shadow-box Library. Very good instructions and supplies were provided. A bookcase/shelves is the September Library project. For those persons supplying their own light, there will be instructions for electrification. The Christmas Party has been scheduled for Thursday, December 13th. More information to follow. The raffle was won by Karen Richter-Rusin, a well-equipped workbench. The items were donated by Jeannie Napolitano and nicely assembled by Lynne R., raffle chairman. The meeting was adjourned at 11:55 A.M. Respectfully submitted,
