SAN DIEGO MINIATURE CRAFTERS Minutes of Meeting 27 November 2007 The meeting was called to order by the President at 10:00 A.M. The October 23, 2007 meeting was cancelled due to the many fires in San Diego County. Some members were evacuated from their homes and others were on alert; however, the President was pleased to report that those members in the fire danger areas were unharmed. Bobbi Allen was the only guest present. Many members were absent due to various health problems. The door prize was won by Karen Richter-Rusin—a breakfast tray. In the absence of Jeannie Jesse, Leslie Hopwood handled the Show and Tell which featured ½" items; also displayed were 2 completed Libraries and 1 in progress. Motion by Buff Greaney to accept the September minutes as written was seconded by Virginia Ross. Motion carried. Library Project—Michelle Barnhart, Chairman, has requested that completed libraries be brought to the January 2008 meeting. Library Chairman, Marion Stacey, brought the loose-leaf binder she is compiling of pages of instructions and patterns in all scales. Members can check out pages to use and copy but they must be returned for replacement in the binder. Show Report-- Sign-up sheet for duty at the Show—both days—will be at the next meeting. 35 dealer contracts have been received and 2 with partial payment. An informative and detailed request form for Exhibits was made available by the Co-chairs, Leslie Hopwood and Debi Cerone. Three very interesting themes are being focused. Kids’ Table—a treasure trunk will be made from a kit. Buff Greaney asked for items to go in the trunk, such as jewelry findings, beads, etc. Also, more items are needed for the Kids’ Sales Table. No Opportunity Drawing (Raffle) is on the "drawing board" as yet. State Day—next meeting on 3 December 2007.
Christmas Party—sign-up sheet for food was available for the party on December 13th; Committee members to arrive at 9:30 A.M. and others at 11:00 A.M. There will be a gift exchange with a value of $15.00—miniature related—for those wishing to participate. New Business: We welcome Bobi Allen who was voted into membership and welcome back to Penny and Karl Newton as Associate Members. An honor was granted to one of our members. Lori Lehman was presented with the Ambassador Club Award for our Region N-l. Congratulations—and another "plus" for the club. The raffle was won by Karen Richter-Rusin. A door resplendent with Christmas décor—a wreath, a mailed package, a red sled and electrified Christmas Lights encompassing the door. Also, 2 cardinals perched on snow covered branches.
